Puppy KennelThe usefulness of an indoor puppy kennel has been known for years. In the past, it was mostly breeders who bought indoor puppy kennels, who realized that an indoor puppy kennel is very useful, if not indispensable, for house training and the prevention of problem behavior.

High quality and sturdy indoor puppy kennels are not cheap, especially in the larger sizes, but it will pay for itself in the long run because, when in its kennel, your puppy will not get the chance to sink its teeth into your furniture or soil your carpet. An extra advantage is that you never need to be angry with your dog when you come home, which is good for mutual bonding.

There are people who think it is a shame to put a dog in a kennel. It certainly is a shame if the dog has to stay in its indoor puppy kennel for too long just because of owner laziness. This, however, is up to you. To ensure that your dog thinks of its indoor kennel as a safe "den", make the kennel as interesting as possible by putting toys, chews, and a soft blanket in it.

Do not put the dog in it for punishment or leave it in the puppy kennel unnecessarily long. It is an aid to upbringing and not a dog cage. Most puppies show that they like their indoor kennel by often going there when they feel the need for rest.
