House Training A Puppy Tips
Wednesday, April 21st, 2010House training a puppy takes time and patience, and is not something you can accomplish overnight. All puppy owners, however experienced, encounter problems from lime to time when potty training a puppy. This is a common problem that you may encounter, so here’s some simple yet effective solutions.
Puppies take time to learn to control their bodies and you shouldn’t expect a puppy to be completely clean until he is six months old. However, you will need to teach your puppy to be clean at night.
Consider taking him into your bedroom at night, confining him to a small area so that you can hear him when he wakes up and moves around.
Take him outside and stay with him so that you can praise him when he goes to the toilet (failing to do this every time will prolong the time it takes for him to learn).
Once he has been clean all night for two weeks, you can return him to the kitchen. Clean the floor thoroughly before you do so to prevent any lingering smells that may encourage him to return to his old habits.
